The houses on historic South street were originally built as workman accommodation and date back to the early 1860's.  Just a 3 minute walk from quality Nelson Accommodation Century Park Motor Lodge, South Street is a 2 minute walk to the Cathedral Steps. 

Set in New Zealand's oldest city, Nelson, South Street oozes charm and history, giving visitors a hint of what life was like in the early days of the colonisation of New Zealand.  Well worth the easy stroll.

The historical home of Nelson Pottery for well over 20 years, South Street Gallery is the last remaining studio of it's type in New Zealand, and, with good reason, is the Studio which outperforms all others in the country.

At South Street Gallery you will find handmade works from 25 selected Nelson potters of National and International renown. 

Situated at the start of South Street - the oldest preserved street in New Zealand, South Street gallery is housed in a lovely old two storey building built in 1860.

The works are constantly being replaced and changed as tastes change, so no two visits will be the same, even if they are only a week apart!  All tableware is microwave, oven and dishwasher safe.
