As I jumped out of the plane everything in my body is screaming ‘this is not right!’ But that soon stopped as I began to enjoy myself. Talk about sensory overload!
I did a tandem skydive because I wanted to experience free fall. I figured this was a once in a lifetime experience so I wanted to do the best dive I could. This is definitely it! Above the clouds, 5km above the beautiful Abel Tasman National Park. Free fall was 70 seconds which doesn't sound like long but when you are up there, it feels long enough. I was so high I could see Mt Taranaki in the North Island!
My wonderful instructor Chris was so much fun and professional that I didn't feel scared (except for the initial moment of jumping out of the plane). There are worse things to do than be in a small plane with 5 good looking men!
Awesome experience and I thoroughly recommend it.
